Open Access

Open access is based on the principle that knowledge from around the world becomes more powerful when shared with others. When research results are open to the research community, professionals, and the public, they can use them to do things beneficial to the world.

Open access means immediate, permanent, free, and online access to research papers. Open access papers are published under the Creative Commons License, which allows for the use, distribution, and reproduction of the article on any media with proper citation of the original work. When you choose to publish an open access paper in AUBER, there are two main ways to choose from:

Green Open Access: After an author publishes an article in a subscription journal, they self archive a version of the subscribed article (not the final published version) in an online repository or website. This allows anyone to access the article for free.

Golden Open Access: The author pays for the publication fee of the article, and the final version of the peer-reviewed paper can be obtained immediately and permanently for free online.

Fully Open Access Journal: If you choose to publish in a fully open access journal, you (as an author, usually through a sponsoring institution or organization) will pay for the publication fee, and the final peer-reviewed version of your article will be immediately available for free reading, downloading, and sharing, with the author having full reuse rights.

Online Open/Hybrid Journal: If you choose to publish in a fully open access journal, you (as an author, usually through a sponsoring institution or organization) will pay for the publication fee, and the final peer-reviewed publishing version of your article will be immediately available for free reading, publication, and sharing, with the author having full reuse rights.
