Introduction

William Shakespeare, often called England's national poet and considered the greatest dramatist of all time, was born in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1564. His works, including "Hamlet," "Romeo and Juliet," and "Macbeth," are known for their depth of character, psychological insight, and the use of poetic language. Shakespeare's plays have been translated into every major language and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
